Founded in 1947

Purpose of Fund

To provide confidential financial assistance for diagnosis, treatment, hospitalization, nursing care, and other care related needs for Cancer, and all other catastrophic illness or disease not covered by insurance to Michigan BPW members and those in their household.

To award fellowships and scholarships and grants  to nurses, physicians and healthcare providers for education and research in the field of oncology (cancer care.)

Members of the Cancer Board are available to talk about the Cancer Fund at local organizations meetings. 

All BPW Michigan Members should be aware of this unique fund as a benefit of their membership.  The Cancer Board is hopeful that this great tradition of "BPW women helping women in need"  will continue just as long as a need exists.

All BPW Michigan members are thankful for those wise and caring women, our past state presidents, who so carefully developed this fund sixty years ago to assist BPW sisters in need. 

The fund is maintained through individual and local organizations contributions and bequests; and through the interest on funds and investments.

Contributions to the fund are often made to honor someone for service to BPW or to the community, or in memory of someone.

All contributions are acknowledged to the person designated by the donor.

Members of the Cancer Board are available to talk about the Cancer Fund at local organizations meetings.

BPW Local organizations that contribute to the fund during the year are listed in the BPW State convention report, if donation is received by the deadline for publication.
